Dredge Operator

Responsibilities:

  • Operate assigned dredge equipment in a safe and efficient manner including reading and understanding dredge pressure, vacuum and flow gauges.
  • Understand and follow all Federal, State, Local, and Corporate safety regulations and policies.
  • Must be able to maintain a clean / organized environment.
  • Perform daily inspection of equipment and report maintenance concerns to Plant Manager.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills with co-workers and customers.
  • Must be capable of climbing a ladder, reaching overhead, bending, pulling on wrenches, & lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work overtime / flexible hours.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-2 years operating heavy equipment or related experience preferred.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Must be able to understand written / verbal instructions and follow through.
  • Must be self-motivated and committed to continuous improvement.

Maintenance & Equipment Operator

Merrick Sand and Gravel is seeking a Maintenance & Equipment Operator who is responsible for maintaining proper supply of materials to the plant, performing daily maintenance / minor repairs to plant and mobile equipment.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Operating various equipment around the plant safely.
  • Must be able to maintain a clean / organized stockyard and bin area.
  • Perform daily inspection of equipment.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills with co-workers and customers.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work overtime / flexible schedule.
